Power Trading Analyst
Full-time Positions
Location: Troy, Michigan
We are seeking a full-time Power Trading Analyst to conduct in-depth quantitative analysis and execute trades across major U.S. power markets, including PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, and others. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, technical capability, and a deep interest in energy markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data-driven analysis to support trading decisions in U.S. power markets.
- Utilize our proprietary energy trading platform to trade energy products.
- Analyze market trends and develop trading strategies based on quantitative models.
- Collaborate with the trading team to evaluate and improve trading performance.
- Identify trading opportunities and make creative, data-driven suggestions to optimize trading results.
Requirements:
- 1+ year working experience or 2+ years of research experience in energy, quantitative trading or statistical analysis.
- Advanced research experience demonstrated through a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics,Statistics, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong technical skills in handling and analyzing large datasets, with the ability to make informed decisions strictly based on data.
- Proficiency in programming, with a preference for Python, SQL and C/C++.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a self-starter mentality.
- Minimum GPA of 3.7 for undergraduate studies and 3.8 for graduate studies.
- This position is based on-site at our Troy, Michigan office. Occasional travel to our Denver, Colorado office may be required.
- U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: The total compensation package ranges from $80,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Discretionary Bonus: Performance-based bonus.
